This is a great question that everyone who has a license needs to know. The fact is that some states use the CEU abbreviation, and some states use contact hours.
Here are the differences:
A Contact Hour is equal to 60 minutes of an continuing education class.
CEU (Continuing Education Unit) is equal to 10 contact hours.
So in other words, a CEU is equal to 10 hours of continuing education classes. But be careful here because some states will say “10 CEU hours” which actually means 10 Contact Hours because otherwise, they are saying they need 100 hours of continuing education classes which is unrealistic.
